Complete Dentures and Partial Dentures

The Problem:

  • A missing multiple teeth or all teeth
  • Teeth are hopeless due to periodontal disease
  • Desire to improve chewing ability
  • Desire to improve smile

The Solution:

Complete dentures or partial dentures are used to replace missing teeth. Complete dentures replace all teeth and partial dentures replace spaces where teeth are missing and supports the remaining teeth.

Advantages:

Custom dentures are durable and may last for many years. They can enhance the smile and support facial tissues. Most importantly they will help improve chewing, speech and digestion.

Disadvantages:

Good quality dentures usually takes several weeks to fabricate. During this time you may be without teeth. There are alternatives to being without teeth such as immediate dentures or essex retainers. Over time dentures will not fit as well as they did when you first got them therefore periodic adjustments and relines will be needed. In many cases implants can be used to increase the retention of the implants.

Alternatives:

Implant supported hybrid bridges or implant supported dentures.
